Things I’ve Learned From Watching Detective Conan

Gee! My mind’s not working today. Mental block, go away! 😀

For the meantime, I’m going to post bits and pieces of trivias from my favorite anime show Detective Conan. Enjoy! 🙂

> Bread crumbs are used as eraser when making sketches.

> When you fire a pistol, a high temperature flash comes out of the barrel, along with the bullet. When people commit suicide with a gun, there will be burn marks in the wound.

> When one suddenly dies in the midst of exercising, the protein in the muscles hardens easier, and the body stiffens much quicker than usual.

> Ursa Major is shaped like a ladle, that’s why it’s also called the “Sky’s Water”.

> Sensei is a honorific for teachers, lawyers, writers and doctors. (What do they call nurses? Heehee.)

> Sama is a honorific used by waiters to call their customers as a way of showing their respect for them.

> The tricks used in an alibi are people, time, and place.

> Shacoba cactus are flowers that grow overseas in winter, so it’s a great Christmas present. It is also called the Christmas Cactus.

> A hand-made bomb can be made using fertilizer and some other chemicals. If you mix them in a certain ratio, a hand-made bomb can be as strong as dynamite. (Don’t ask me. I don’t know the exact ratio. :p)

> Whip fishing is a technique for sea fishing in which a spinning rod is used to cast a sinker many many meters away.

> Potassium chloride (KCl) is used to stop the heart in lethal injection executions.

> The human body begins to stiffen 30 minutes to 2 hours after death (rigor mortis) and by 9 to 12 hours becomes entirely stiff. The stiffness continues until 30 hours after death at which point it gradually becomes limp again 70 hours after death.

> If the body is exposed to temperature of about 35 degree Celsius, the speed of rigor mortis and its subsequent softening will accelerate, allowing the body to become limp within 24 to 30 hours.

> Crows use hangers to build nests.

Oyasumi nasai! 🙂
